Reason for the season

We all enjoy Christmas,this goes without saying.It can be a stressful time of year.In my type of work( meat dept.)it can be a very hard and lots of work too.Most of the time my customers are very nice.The others I just look the other way.
We all love the food.We all over eat.I do it daily.We are lucky to be in a country that we can celebrate anytime or any where we want.Without fear of retaliation by some one different from us.
Some and I hope all are lucky enough to give and receive gifts from our loved ones.
One of the best parts is being with our families.As you know this one my favorites.Kids and grand kids kick butt.
One thing that is easy to forget is why we celebrate.Our Lord and his Son.I don't want to preach.

A KID IN CHURCH

Back in the dark ages when I was a kid we used to go to a small church on the south side of Fort Worth.This was an old style southern baptist church. Fire and brimstone.
The preacher was short,fat and scary as hell to a young fat boy.
One Sunday,after Sunday school, he was preaching and telling everyone that we were going to hell if we don't change our ways.
I was sitting in the third row, with a young lady(about 6 yrs old). As all kids do we were playing,talking and not paying attention to the preacher.He stopped his sermon and looked straight at me. Then he said "as soon as Mr. Lowe gets through playing grab ass we will continue".
I damn near died, he scared me , but not near as much as my mom who as in the back pew.I did live, but have been scared for life.
